GHRP-2
Synthetic hexapeptide, D-Ala-D-2-Nal-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys-NH2.
GHRP-2 FAQ
GHRP-6 vs. GHRP-2
Both are synthetic hexapeptide agonists of the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a) from the same growth-hormone-releasing peptide family. They differ in sequence: GHRP-6 is His-D-Trp-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys-NH2, while GHRP-2 (pralmorelin) is D-Ala-D-2-Nal-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys-NH2. GHRP-2 is approved in Japan as a diagnostic agent; neither is FDA approved.
GHRPs (GHRP-6, hexarelin) vs. GHRH analogues (CJC-1295, sermorelin, tesamorelin)
They act on different receptors. GHRP-6, GHRP-2 and hexarelin are small synthetic hexapeptides that act on the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a). CJC-1295, sermorelin and tesamorelin are much longer analogues of growth-hormone-releasing hormone, 29 to 44 amino acids, that act on the GHRH receptor. Both receptors are on pituitary cells and regulate growth hormone release through separate signaling pathways.
What is GHRP-2?
GHRP-2, also known as pralmorelin, is a synthetic hexapeptide, D-Ala-D-2-Nal-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys-NH2, from the growth-hormone-releasing peptide family developed after GHRP-6. It acts on the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a). It is approved in Japan as a diagnostic agent for testing pituitary growth hormone secretion, but it is not FDA approved.
What has GHRP-2 been studied for in research?
GHRP-2 has been studied in pituitary cell and rodent models of ghrelin-receptor signaling and growth hormone secretion, and in human clinical pharmacology studies. Its main clinical development was as a diagnostic agent: in Japan it is used to test the pituitary's capacity to release growth hormone in people being evaluated for growth hormone deficiency. Findings in cells or animals do not establish effects in people.
Is GHRP-2 FDA approved?
No. GHRP-2 (pralmorelin) is approved in Japan as a diagnostic agent, but it has never been approved by the FDA. In the United States it is a research compound, sold here for laboratory research use only. The World Anti-Doping Agency also names it in class S2, prohibited in sport at all times.
What are the identifiers for GHRP-2?
GHRP-2: molecular formula C45H55N9O6; molecular weight 817.97 g/mol; CAS number 158861-67-7. Sequence: D-Ala-D-2-Nal-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys-NH2. Match these identifiers against the Certificate of Analysis for the lot.
Does GHRP-2 come with a Certificate of Analysis?
Yes. Each lot has its own Certificate of Analysis, linked on this page for the current lot of each size: 10mg (99.25% HPLC purity); 15mg (98.85% HPLC purity). Past certificates are archived in the COA library; contact us with the lot number on the vial label if a certificate is missing.
What purity is GHRP-2?
98.85% (HPLC, current lot). Purity is measured by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and reported on the lot's Certificate of Analysis.
What sizes of GHRP-2 are available?
GHRP-2 is supplied as lyophilized powder in a sealed vial in 2 sizes: 10mg, 15mg. In stock and dispatched in 1–2 business days. Quantity pricing applies automatically at 5+ and 10+ vials of the same size.
How should GHRP-2 be stored?
Store sealed at −20 °C, dry and protected from light.
